Tonight: open house for a new levee trail study in North KC

North Kansas City is studying options for a trail along the north Missouri Riverfront, connecting the Heart of America and Chouteau Bridges. Tonight is your chance to learn more, share your ideas, and show your support for a new trail in Northtown!

Monday, November 6th
5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
North Kansas City YMCA
1999 Iron Street, North Kansas City, MO

(A future public meeting is planned for February/March 2024)

Together with a future eastward extension of the Riverfront Heritage Trail on the south riverfront, this new trail would form a loop around the river for recreation, transportation, and access to green spaces.

This levee trail study is a next step from North Kansas City’s 2020 bike master plan, which was led by BikeWalkKC’s Community Planning program. This planning process is expected to deliver a final report to the city council in June 2024. At that point we will know more about the feasibility of developing a new trail. BikeWalkKC is serving on the steering committee overseeing this study and we will keep you updated along the way.

Visit the project web site to learn more.
