ACTION ALERT: Speak up for Federal Funding of Bike Share and Safe Routes to School

BikeWalkKC’s Youth Education, Safe Routes to School, and B-cycle bike share programs rely on significant federal funding, and we are currently applying for the next round of those funds. We need your help to show strong community support for continued investment in these important programs. Please review the two grant applications and leave your comments at the end of each one. THE COMMENT PERIOD ENDS ON MAY 21ST, SO DON’T DELAY.

Congratulations and Welcome to the KC Streetcar!

Our office had a lot of fun welcoming the KC Streetcar to revenue service on Friday. Here’s our Education Programs Manager, Maggie demonstrating the right way to ride with the streetcar.

And our Communication and Membership Manager, Kristen was able to ride with the mayor (and streetcar change-maker and friend of BikeWalkKC, David Johnson) and talk up bike safety and lanes.

(That’s her bike in the lower right, all of us took this opportunity to either ride our own bikes or B-cycle throughout the day)

It has been an honor and a privilege to work with the KC Streetcar Authority to get bike and pedestrian specific safety information out to everyone. Check out the safety info here.
