Councilman Jermaine Reed (3rd District) recently joined the students in our East High School Bike Club on a fun bike ride to the 18th & Vine Jazz District. The kids had a great time meeting a city leader and talking with him about how to make take it safer for the students walk and bike to school and around their neighborhoods.

The committee voted in approval of three new bikeway projects totaling $1.2 million. The longest project is a new bikeway on The Paseo, from Independence Avenue all the way down to 85th Street. Other projects include Charlotte/Holmes through Midtown and Lexington Avenue and Gladstone Boulevard in the Northeast. Stay tuned for details as these new projects progress through the planning and design process over the next year or so.
