ACTION ALERT: Speak up for Federal Funding of Bike Share and Safe Routes to School

BikeWalkKC’s Youth Education, Safe Routes to School, and B-cycle bike share programs rely on significant federal funding, and we are currently applying for the next round of those funds. We need your help to show strong community support for continued investment in these important programs. Please review the two grant applications and leave your comments at the end of each one.

Tour de Bier is May 15th

Registration ends on May 1st so sign up now! You do not want to miss out on this year’s ride, which features some new breweries along with old favorites. Also, our Women Bike KC initative is giving away a classic Raleigh bike at the ride to raise money for the initatives. We still need volunteers as well.

May is Bike Month

May is Bike Month. Join the other organizations, schools and municipalities who have posted their information on our calendar. Also, be sure to tag your social media posts #kcbikemonth and #whyIride KC!

Women’s Special Events– Shop Day at  Trek Bicycle of KC-Independence and Women’s Only Confident City Cycling

Join us TOMORROW AFTERNOON, Saturday April 23rd from 12 noon- 3 p.m. for a special shop day at the Trek store in Independence. In addition to snacks, there will be special demonstrations at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

Our Recent League Certified Instructor Training Was A Success

Congrats to the next class of League Certified Instructors! The program, facilitated by the League of American Bicyclists in conjunction with us, teaches graduates of our Confident City Cycling and similar programs how to teach those classes and clinics.
