Cold weather has arrived, and freezing temperatures can impact our biking and walking habits in different ways. But for many in the Kansas City region, walking, rolling, or biking isn’t a seasonal activity– it’s just how they get around.
BikeWalkKC is partnering with Hope Faith Homeless Assistance Campus and several of our Business Members to collect new and gently used items for people who walk and bike through the winter. The Whatever the Weather Gear Drive will run Friday, November 8th – Friday, December 6th, and we invite you to participate.
How to help:
- Gather your gear: hats, gloves, winter socks, scarves, balaclavas, etc.
- Visit a participating drop off site:

Did you know that many people who bike and walk for transportation don’t have access to a personal vehicle? BikeWalkKC and Hope Faith have been working together since 2016 to help vulnerable and homeless populations access reliable, inexpensive transportation, learn new skills, and travel on safe and comfortable streets and sidewalks. Learn more about our ongoing partnership and how you can support a culture of active living for all.
