Summer by Rail + Amtrak Advocacy

BikeWalkKC’s Kansas City BCycle is partnering with the National Association of Rail Passengers (NARP) and Amtrak to host their Summer by Rail travelers, Victoria and Caitlyn of New Jersey. The two will be traveling via Amtrak to 22 bike sharing cities across the country, including our own Kansas City BCycle.

While in Kansas City on Saturday, August 19, the two will explore some of Kansas City’s must-see sights via BCycle and the KC Streetcar, including Union Station, the River Market, and the WWI Museum, and of course, they’ll enjoy some barbeque. They will document their journey with short videos, social media, and blog posts. We are excited to host them in Kansas City!

Advocacy Alert: As you may know, passenger rail service is under threat in the Trump administration’s “skinny” budget, which would slash Amtrak service for more than 144 million Americans. BikeWalkKC stands with the NARP – and we urge you to do the same – in speaking up to Congress to reject these cuts and continue federal funding for rail travel!
