Get arty for a good cause

Join us for a First Friday art reception at Buttonwood Art Space on Friday, August 5th for “The Art of Human Movement” – a special art exhibit showcasing bicycling, walking, and all other forms of human movement and human-powered transportation. Surround yourself with art while you enjoy a beer and some light snacks.

The show is open now through the end of August. Proceeds will benefit Kansas City B-cycle, BikeWalkKC’s growing bike share program. Sponsorship opportunities are now available.

Women Bike KC events are popping up all over

Our community of women cyclists will host several events throughout the summer and into the fall, leading up to our third annual KC Women’s Bike Summit on September 10th, 2016. Registration for the summit is open! Visit the Women Bike KC website to register, then come see them at one of the following events to show your support or get involved:

Register today for Tour de Jazz!

Discover Kansas City’s rich musical heritage and unique neighborhoods from the seat of your bicycle on the Tour de Jazz on August 20th. Kick off the 2016 Charlie Parker Celebration with a new bike ride at 18th and Vine. The Tour de Jazz is explores historic and contemporary sites in KC’s vibrant music scene. Hear great music, learn about local history, and discover beautiful neighborhoods — all on two wheels! Distances are 40 miles, 20 miles, or a 10-mile family-friendly guided tour. Register online atwww.tourdejazzkc.com.

Boulevard Brewing Co. has a huge new visitors center and right out front is KC’s newest bike share station. This is just the latest of Boulevard’s long-standing support of the bike community.

BikeWalkKC Receives Grant to Create the Active Living Policy Council

BikeWalkKC has been awarded a $170,00 grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCF) for the Active Living Policy Council – which will allow us to reach more people who are in need of our services, namely those who have been underserved throughout the metro region. Read more on our website.

BikeWalkKC is hiring part-time, seasonal instructors for our youth education programs during the upcoming school year.
