Record participation in International Walk to School Day

On October 9th 38 schools from 16 districts participated in events to celebrate and encourage walking to school, a 21% increase from last year! Visit walktoschoolkc.com to see which schools walked on the 9th and how you can help your own children and their school walk and bike to school all year long.

November 14th: Handlebar Happy Hour at Cinder Block Brewery

Join us for November's Handlebar Happy Hour at Cinder Block Brewery, Kansas City's newest micro-brewery located in North Kansas City. Take advantage of specials and learn about the efforts of a local non-profit organization with Sean Starowitz from Fresh Bread and Bread! KC.

December 7th: Midnight Christmas Ride

Last year marked the first people on bikes were welcomed to Jackson County Parks' annual Christmas in the Park tradition, and this year a new bike-themed tradition returns bigger and better. Trip the Light Fantastic is family-friendly, four mile experience of lights and sounds in a car-free setting.

Broadway Bridge could be replaced soon, let's make sure it includes a place to walk and bike

The Broadway Bridge is the next big Missouri River crossing on the horizon. BikeWalkKC's goal is for all future river crossings to include a place for people to walk and bike. It is all too common to see people walking in fast traffic on this bridge, and now we have an opportunity fix this dangerous situation. Please sign our petition to let the decision makers know that there is strong public support early in the planning process.
