BikeWalkKC's Programs and Activities

Youth Education
Our Local Spokes education programs teach youth the skills they need to bike safely and confidently to school or around their neighborhood. Since 2015, these programs have served more than 7,000 kids at several schools in the Shawnee Mission and Olathe school districts. Learn more.

Safe Routes to School
BikeWalkKC provides technical assistance and programs to schools and school districts to help them get more kids walking and biking to school. Recent highlights include working with Trailwood Elementary School in the Shawnee Mission School District to study ways to improve the built environment for pedestrians. Learn more.

Live Well Johnson County
We are the active living partner in the County Health Department's Live Well Johnson County project. BikeWalkKC is providing technical assistance for municipalities like Roeland Park, Mission, and Shawnee to help increase walking and bicycling. Our work includes a Bike-Friendly Business Guide and a Road Diet Guide for the City of Mission.
