Join BikeWalkKC and Urban Hikes KC for a very special Member Adventure in Kansas City, Kansas!
Tour Strawberry Hill at human speed and experience this historic corner of KCK from a brand new perspective on this urban hike with an expert local guide. With more than 30 points of interest, we learn about the rich ethnic history of KCK. We see the beautiful homes of Strawberry Hill, vantage points, the Wyandot Burial ground & hear stories of courageous enslaved people who escaped to freedom. We also enjoy beautiful murals, hills and see plenty of hidden gems.
What to expect:
- Meet at Splitlog Coffee at 548 Central Avenue in KCK. The tour begins promptly at 9 a.m.
- On our 3.5 hour, 4-5 mile walk, we will encounter some steep hills and incomplete or broken sidewalks, as well as stunning views, thrilling history, and hopeful visions for the future!
- There will be restrooms available about halfway through the hike.
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing and bring a bottle of water.
