RideKC Bike lets you ride, return, and repeat

Imagine a bike that is always ready to ride, where and when you want to ride it. The tires are always inflated and the chain is never rusty. A bike with a basket to carry your gear. A bike that fits people tall and small, with front and rear lights and a bell. A bike that’s there whenever you need it, and gone when you don’t. That’s a RideKC Bike. And it’s powered by the ultimate alternative fuel: YOU.

BikeWalkKC is the owner/operator of RideKC Bike, in partnership with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and part of the RideKC family of transit services. The system includes smart, electric assist bikes and pedal bikes located at hubs all around the metro.

To get started, simply download the RideKC Bike app to locate a bike near you. Use the app to check out the bike, ride where you wish, and then lock the bike to any available bike rack or hub identified in the app. With locations in North Kansas City; KCMO; Longview Lake; Kansas City, Kansas; Lenexa, Kansas; and Johnson County parks, RideKC Bike gets you to and from where you want to be!

Bike Share for All

As the operator of RideKC Bike, BikeWalkKC believes that Kansas City's bike share system must find a way to reach those underserved areas of Kansas City. That’s why, with the support of the Health Forward Foundation and The H & R Block Foundation, we were able to launch an equity program, Bike Share for All, in 2018. This program provides affordable annual memberships for those most in need of bikes for transportation, and is offered in partnership with:

  • Healing House
  • Hope Faith
  • Metro Lutheran Ministry
  • Midtown KC Now
  • Westside Housing Organization
