Juneteenth Bicycle Tour with Major Taylor Cycling Club of KC

June 19, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Juneteenth Freedom Day Ride

Bring friends and join the Major Taylor Cycling Club of Kansas City as we ride to celebrate Juneteenth, the Emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy. The tour will be about 19 miles, easy pace, with several stops. Feel free to meet us at each stop via car if that's better for you: tour times will be posted, stay tuned.

Everyone will learn the fascinating historical and cultural context of the Emancipation period in KC. Bring your water bottle/s as we expect warm temps.

Tour stops include Kaw Point, Freedom Mall, and Quindaro Townsite. A brief, informative talk and Q&A will take place at each stop! See you on the 19th!

This is a self-supported tour. Helmets required/obey all laws/we all ride at our own risk.
