Bike to the Royals
September 30, 2018 @ 12:45 pm - 6:00 pm
Join BikeWalkKC and the Jackson County Rock Island Railroad Authority for a group ride to Kauffman Stadium to see the Royals play the Cleveland Indians.
Last year, Jackson County broke ground on the new Rock Island Shared Use Path. Not only will the path connect the Truman Sports Complex to Missouri’s Katy Trail State Park, it will also open a new way to bike to the ballpark and a whole new world of bicycle tailgating.
Join our casual group ride to the stadium, meet Jackson County officials working on the project, and get a few sneak peeks of how this project will interact with the Stadium Complex.
- Free BCycle rides, or bring your own bike
- Bring a lock to park at the stadium
- Early start allows time for tailgaiting
- No-drop ride
- Group will return together after the game
- Return ride ends before sunset
- Register by September 12 for group discount and seating with the group
Ride from Theis Park near the Country Club Plaza
A 8 mile or one hour ride, mostly on the car-free Brush Creek and Cleaver/Van Brunt Trails. This route will also showcase future trail connections like the Brush Creek/Blue River Confluence trail. Parking is available on the east side of the park at the Kauffman Memorial Gardens (enter from Rockhill Road). Meet by 11:30 AM, ride leaves at 12:00PM. Route Map
Meet us at the stadium
We’ll be parking our bikes at the media fence in Lot B at Kauffman Stadium. Register by September 12th for group discount and seats with the rest of the group.
