The Velo Garage All Bike Club and BikeWalkKC are raising funds to purchase a Bike Lane Sweeper that can be pulled by bike! When local governments can't (or won't) clean bike lanes and trails, the Bike Lane Sweeper will allow volunteers and community members to pedal to the rescue and help with maintenance. The Bike Lane Sweeper is a bike-towed trailer with an electrically powered brush. It removes rocks, glass, nails, and leaves, making bike lanes and roadsides safer for cyclists. The brush is turned on and off by a wireless controller that clamps onto your handlebars. The trailer attaches to the rear-wheel with a standard Burley hitch (like your kids' trailer uses), which makes it easy to swap to different bikes. It can be pulled by "acoustic" or electric bicycles. The compact size (a little over 3 feet wide) means that it can be lifted by two people, transported in the back of an SUV or station wagon, and stored in an vertical orientation. It comes with a flashing safety light and a hi-viz flag. There is even an integrated tracking device that lets you see where your sweeper has swept!

Velo Garage All Bike Club is a cycling community rooted in North Kansas City and fueled by adventure, friendship, and advocacy. They host the largest weekly group ride in the KC metro, and support community efforts like the Pride Ride, the Alex Pretti Memorial Ride, the Save America's Bike Lanes Ride, and the Earth Day Clean Up on the Heart of America connector bridge. When thieves stole an entire trailer of BikeWalkKC's youth education bicycles, VGABC threw a bike wash fundraiser to buy new bikes!
