Public Education Programs

BikeWalkKC’s youth and adult education programs engage around 6,000 individuals every year around the Kansas City region. Ranging from on-bike skills training and Earn-a-Bike programs to Safe Routes to School and pedestrian safety, BikeWalkKC partners with schools, neighborhoods, libraries, community centers, social service organizations, and municipalities to deliver quality programming to audiences of all ages.

BikeWalkKC’s education team includes 6 full-time and 10 part-time staff, as well as 4 bicycle fleets and fleet vehicles, making us well-equipped to deploy programming and services across both sides of the state line. As the only organization in the region offering this robust selection of bike/ped programs, technical assistance, and curriculum trainings, we are committed to working collaboratively and creatively with our partners.

The benefits of BikeWalkKC’s education programs extend far beyond the walls of the classroom– we share knowledge and skills for lifelong learning, we provide access to bikes for those who need it most, we expand the possibilities of transportation options for youth and adults, and we empower people to live healthy, active lives.
