In 2017, BikeWalkKC partnered on a team to assist the Mid America Regional Council with the development of the first and second phases of a Regional Green Infrastructure Strategy. Phase 1 of this work used existing data and plans to identify opportunities for implementation of integrated green infrastructure solutions to link multiple human, natural, and economic benefits. The second phase included the development of a regional playbook for green infrastructure projects, as well as a competitive call for entries for technical assistance. Throughout this work, BikeWalkKC focused on the connections between transportation, environment, and human capacity, including mapping of regional transportation investments and their impacts on areas of high ecological importance.
