BikeWalkKC worked with the City of Westwood, Roeland Park, and the Unified Government to implement a road diet and complete street improvements on 47th Street, as well as other pedestrian improvements in the City of Westwood.
Building on recent planning efforts with the Rosedale Master Plan and Westwood Master Plan, the 47th Street Complete Street Plan explores ways to enhance the walkability, bikeability, and livability of the 47th Street Corridor. Specifically, this project explores whether a reconfiguration of travel lanes on 47th Street can help to support various community goals for the corridor, and includes traffic studies to evaluate the feasibility of potential design options. This project looks at improvements to connecting areas, including pedestrian and bicycle amenities on Belinder Road and connections between Rainbow Boulevard and State Line Road.
