Vision Independence Blvd. Walking Tour + Survey

An event from the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (NEKC) and the Independence Avenue Community Improvement District (CID)

Historic Northeast residents and business owners are invited to a walking tour + community engagement session along Independence Boulevard. As residents walk, they will complete digital survey forms on their smartphones to evaluate infrastructure, building conditions, streetscape design, and local business needs. This feedback will be transmitted live to state leaders, including Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, during the Governor’s Conference.

Led by Lisa Pena of Urban Hikes KC and Lonnie Clark of the Independence Avenue CID, the walk offers participants a structured, expert-guided look at the boulevard’s current physical state.

To participate and ensure tour materials are prepared, community members are asked to RSVP in advance by emailing bobbibaker@nekcchamber.com.
