Raising Advocates: How kids shape Safe Routes to School

June 2, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Walking to school builds community in Rosedale

The physical benefits of walking to school are well-documented, but what about the social perks? Join us for a talk with Je T’aime Taylor, Program Director at Rosedale Development Association, and Areiona King, Wyandotte County Safe Routes to School Coordinator, about how kids in local Walking School Bus programs are learning to scale language barriers, advocate for walkable neighborhoods, and value safe streets.

This talk will be recorded.

Similar to many non-profits and small businesses, BikeWalkKC’s financial sustainability has been threatened by the COVID-19 outbreak. If you are able to, please consider making a donation or purchasing a membership for yourself, your household, or your organization. Any amount helps, and we appreciate your support at this difficult time.
