Ovarian Psycos – film screening and panel discussion

As part of our #WomenBikeKC initiative, we are excited to partner with KCPT and SOS Squad of Siblings for a special screening of “Ovarian Psycos,” followed by activities and a panel discussion, on Jan. 14 at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library. The event is co-presented by Kansas City Public Library and UMKC.

The all-female Ovarian Psycos bicycle brigade has been riding through Eastside Los Angeles since 2011, cruising barrios and boulevards where women were killed to signal to the community that they stand together without fear. The documentary, “Ovarian Psycos,” follows this motley crew of heroines, their confrontation of injustice, racism, and violence, and the impact their brand of feminism has had on women in the neighborhoods they traverse.
