Because of this: Just Ride Series

September 25 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Just Ride is a community bike ride series rooted in the ideas of community, communities + mobility justice. Organized by Urban Planner and Placemaker, Emmanuel Cook Jr., Just Ride advocates for the right to live in and move through public space without the fear of violence, harm, or oppression. This series partners with BikeWalk KC’s bike share program and was curated by Mary Lawson as a part of the programming for BECAUSE OF THIS.

Shero/Moderator Jennifer Lin of Black Girls Do Ride KC will be co-leading Just Ride Bike Ride on Saturday, September 25!

It’s like a pep rally for black girls on bikes!

Blackgirlsdobike.com‘s interest is in growing and supporting a community of women of color who share a passion for cycling. We champion efforts to introduce the joy of cycling to all women, but especially, black women and girls. We are establishing a comfortable place where lady cyclists can support, advise, organize meet-ups/rides and promote skill-sharing. We look to share positive images of ladies and their bikes that affirm the truth that black girls do indeed bike! We support bike advocacy, awareness, education, and safety in all communities and corners of the world.

To sign-up, please RSVP using the Just Ride Series Google Form.
