13th Annual Public Health and Safety Fair
The Annual Public Health and Safety Fair is focused on reducing health disparities in the African-American community by providing access to resources.
Studies have shown that prevention is key in maintaining the health of our children. To increase awareness about health disparities in the minority community, we have to engage individuals in preventive care, boosting their physical activities, and teaching healthy eating and cooking habits. Participants of all ages received diabetes and blood pressure screenings, dental checks, eye exams, and breast exams.
In addition, citizens increase their safety with car and booster seat installation courses, bicycle safety training with BikeWalkKC and so much more.
