Local Laws and Policies for E-bikes and E-mobility devices

Laws and regulations for e-bikes and other e-mobility devices are set at various levels of federal, state, county, and city governments. And they can vary greatly across the dozens of cities in our five-county, bi-state metro area. BikeWalkKC’s Policy Team is working closely with local governments to advocate for consistent policies across the region so your bike’s legal status doesn’t change when you cross city, county, or state borders.

We do our best to keep this page updated, but please be sure to verify current laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where you ride an e-bike.
