Bicyclists are an indicator species for vibrant and successful cities

Kansas City B-cycle is Downtown’s new public bike sharing system. We debuted our first phase on July 3rd. We are asking the community to invest in sustaining the program and expanding it to include more of Downtown and other Kansas City neighborhoods.

Bike sharing is a new way to experience everything our vibrant city has to offer. Arts. Culture. Sports. Cuisine. Shopping. Kansas City is growing and thriving, and Kansas City B-cycle gives you a front row seat as our city steps onto the world stage.

Kanas City B-cycle is a self-service rental system for short trips. 90 bikes and 12 docking stations have been scattered around Greater Downtown to  provide an easy, convenient, and affordable new option for getting around for fun, fitness, errands, or work. Leave the car parked the next time you need to leave the office for an errand or lunch meeting. Don’t mess with taking your own bike down the stairs or stuffing it into the elevator for a quick trip to the grocery store. Leave your bike at home – take ours!

Bike share benefits the triple bottom line of profit, people, and planet

Kansas City B-cycle is an amazing new way to reach customers, promote your brand, or share your personal message with the city. Our 90 B-cycles are mobile promotional platforms, and our 12 B-stations are new civic landmarks on display to hundreds of thousands of curious eyeballs.

A highly visible platform to promote your brand.

Bike sharing is the brainchild of BikeWalkKC, a powerful force making Greater Kansas City a better place to walk, bike, live, work, and visit. We have partnered with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City to create Kansas City B-cycle and transform the health, environment, and quality of life the city we call home.

We need everyone in the community to join us in this transformational effort

Kansas City B-cycle is a unique public/private partnership. While City Hall is committing to build more bike lanes that will benefit everyone, we rely on private fundraising, sponsorship, and ad sales to bring you bike sharing. We need visionary leaders in the corporate and philanthropic communities to step up and support this exciting new project that will help shape the future of Kansas City.

The community has already shown amazing support for bike sharing. More than 200 volunteers have put in countless hours to help us build the bikes, apply decals, and ride the bikes to their dock stations. No city in the world has seen this type of community support for bike sharing.

We need your help to sustain and grow bike sharing in Kansas City.
