DESCRIPTION:Do you have an adult bike you’re not using\, but that still has some life in it? Do you need or want a gently used bike to get yourself riding this spring? Come to the Give-A-Bike\, Take-A-Bike Event! \nDonate gently used bicycles so they can be matched with a new rider! Browse the donated bikes and choose one that will work for you! Bikes will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis. Volunteers will be on hand to do basic maintenance\, adjust seat height\, air tires\, etc. \nDonations will also be collected at the event to be used to purchase new bikes for kids as part of the City of Mission’s Holiday Adoption Program. \nAnd\, enjoy the fine food and drink at The Bar in the Handlebar Happy Hour style you’ve come to love! \nCo-Sponsored by the City of Mission\, BikeWalkKC and hosted by The Bar

SUMMARY:City of Mission Handlebar Happy Hour and Bike Drive
DESCRIPTION:The City of Mission and BikeWalkKC will co-host a happy hour at The Bar\, 6101 Johnson Drive. All are welcome! Experienced cyclists\, people curious about bike riding in the city\, Mission residents and those from around the region. We’ll talk cycling\, circulate a sign-up sheet for those interested in connecting with other area cyclists and just have a good time. \nBike donations will be accepted\, so bring your used or unwanted adult bicycles. Donated bikes will be cleaned and repaired\, and either given to the City’s adopted families at the holidays\, or used through BikeWalkKC’s Earn-A-Bike program. Donations are tax-deductible. \nIf you miss this event or are unable to attend\, you may also drop off your donated bike at the Sylvester Powell\, Jr. Community Center (north parking lot) on Thursday morning\, November 17th\, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00. \nFor more information\, contact Emily Randel: erandel@missionks.org or 913-676-8368.
