SUMMARY:3rd District Mobility Open House
DESCRIPTION:An event from the City of Kansas City Missouri \nKansas City invites community members to attend a second public engagement event for the 3rd District Mobility Plan. This in-person\, open house style meeting will be held Wednesday\, February 26 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Lucile H. Bluford Library (3050 Prospect Avenue). \nKansas City Public Works\, in collaboration with consultants from GFT (Transystems)\, and Kansas City’s Planning and Parks Departments\, are holding this public meeting to get a better understanding of community preferences related to non-motorized mobility (walking\, biking\, scootering\, mobility devices\, and other means) in the City’s 3rd District. At the open house\, residents can help the project team answer the following questions: \n\nHow can we improve mobility in the 3rd District?\n\nWhat kind of infrastructure improvements are necessary to improve mobility?\n\nWhere should these improvements go?\n\n\nThe team is currently wrapping up a draft plan and would like the community to review and provide input one more time before the plan is finalized for adoption. The last public meeting on this topic was in October 2025 and community feedback was taken into consideration to shape the current draft plan. Stop by the event to learn more and to give your input! \nWhen: Wednesday\, February 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. \nWhere: Lucile H. Bluford Library (3050 Prospect Avenue) \nIf you’re interested in having a member of the project team give a presentation at your next neighborhood association meeting\, please contact Regan.Tokos@kcmo.org.

SUMMARY:GO KC Sidewalk Update Public Meeting 1
DESCRIPTION:ADVOCACY ALERT: KCMO Public Works is hosting a series of public meetings highlighting updates from the GOKC Sidewalk Program. These meetings are important opportunities to learn how the the inspection process works and ask questions of the Public Works representatives. During the meetings\, you’ll be able to review exhibits that describe the GO KC sidewalk program and Zone 2 design inspections. Representatives from the City and design team will be present to answer your questions and discuss issues or concerns.\n\n\nBACKGROUND\nKCMO Public Works is conducting sidewalk design inspections as part of the GO KC sidewalk program\, an effort BikeWalkKC and the Sidewalks KC Coalition advocated for. Inspection areas include Zone 1 from the city limits to 20th Street\, Zone 2 from 20th Street to 48th Street\, and Zone 3 from 48th Street to the south city limits. The first round of design inspections is split between three zones and focuses on priority areas 1\, 2\, and 3 (approved by City Council in August 2017) in our sidewalk demand analysis. In April 2017\, Kansas City voters overwhelmingly supported an $800 million capital improvements program to remake Kansas City’s infrastructure over the next 20 years. One of the major selling points for residents was the promise to create a city-funded sidewalk repair program that would eliminate homeowner assessments. To that end\, some $150 million is being dedicated to sidewalks.\n\n\n\n\nPublic Meeting No. 1\nMonday\, August 26\, 2016\n5:30 to 7 p.m. (presentation at 6 p.m.)\n\n\nKansas City Public Library – Lucile H.
