As part of our #WomenBikeKC initiative, we are excited to partner with KCPT and SOS Squad of Siblings for a special screening of "Ovarian Psycos," followed by activities and a panel discussion, on Jan. 14 at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library. Washington Post reporter Michael Kranish examines this overlooked trailblazer in a discussion of his book The World's Fastest Man: The Extraordinary Life of Cyclist Major Taylor, America's First Black Sports Hero. Overcoming rampant racism in his sport, Taylor became one of the most chronicled black men of his time. Join KC's Major Taylor Cycling Club, KC Public Library, and author Michael Kranish for a reception and discussion about Major Taylor's life and times.
