What if it could be a chance to connect with yourself\, your community and plant seeds for a brighter tomorrow? The Green Commute Challenge invites you to do just that by carpooling\, biking\, walking\, scooting or taking transit.    \nThe Green Commute Challenge is a free competition among Kansas City area commuters that rewards taking greener transportation options throughout the month of October. Throughout the challenge\, members of employer- and community-based teams log their green commute trips to earn points and enter weekly drawings for prizes from local businesses and makers. At the end of the challenge\, grand prizes (like an e-bike and high-end commuting gear!) will be awarded on both individual and team levels.  \nSign-ups are open now\, and the challenge begins on October 1!

E-bike owners will have the option to share their bike with others for test rides\, answer questions and provide honest feedback on their ownership experience. Join WAY TO GO\, Women-Led Cycling and All Bodies on Bikes KC for the Green Commute On-Ramp Series. Attend one or both events to equip yourself with the knowledge and real-world practice you need to take on a bike commute with confidence. \nPart Two will cover commuter tips and tricks. We’ll look at different bike set-ups for commuting\, how to carry your stuff (with bags\, racks\, and other set-ups on-site)\, how to properly lock up your bike\, how to create a route for yourself\, and how to get cleaned up before heading into work or school. We’ll spend the last hour of this event on a ~11-mile ride that will take us from Waldo to Gillham Park and back. \nThis event is free\, but participants must sign a waiver. DESCRIPTION:Learn more		\n			\n	\n\n\n \n\nAn event from the MidAmerica Regional Council and WAY TO GO \nIn celebration of National Bike Month this year\, MARC has chosen the theme of “Bikes Connect Us.” They’re bringing this idea to life with one big ol’ community bike ride hosted by WAY TO GO and Women-Led Cycling\, and featuring Major Taylor Cycling Club of KC\, All Bodies on Bikes\, Party Pace Pedalers\, KC Family Bike Ride and Women Cycle KC! \nThe ride will start and end at Concourse Park with 5-mile and 16-mile route options. After the ride\, all are welcome to BYOL (bring your own lunch!) and hang out with other bike friends (or make a new one!) at the park.
