SUMMARY:Ride of Silence
DESCRIPTION:The 15th annual Kansas City Ride of Silence (19th year internationally).\n\n\nWe will ride in a slow\, silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.\nCycling Kansas City (CyclingKC.org) is organizing this 15th annual Kansas City ride. Over 75 bicyclists have been killed in the Kansas City area. The Kansas City ride will honor those and other bicyclists.\nParticipants of all abilities are invited to join the procession. The 6-mile ride will average about 10 mph. The names of those who lost their lives while riding their bicycles will be read during a brief ceremony followed by ride protocol\, safety instructions\, and the ride. The ride will start at 7:00 p.m.\, the same local start time around the world. This is the traditional Kansas City\, MO ride.\nCKC is encouraging riders to join the Prairie Village ride because there is more space to social distance than the area around the Trolley Trail.\n\n\n\n\nPrairie Village\, KS ride\nMeet Location: Harmon Park parking lot at W 78th St and Delmar St. Prairie Village\, KS\nMeet Time: 6:30 p.m.\nRide Time: 7:00 pm\nThis Prairie Village ride is in addition to the traditional Kansas City\, MO ride.\n\n\n\n\nThe Ride of Silence is not a BikeWalkKC event.

The ride will not exceed 12 mph.  The names of those who lost their lives while riding their bicycles will be read during a brief ceremony followed by ride protocol\, safety instructions\, and the ride.  The ride will start at 7:00 p.m.\, the same local start time around the world.  The ride will return to Brookside around 8:00 p.m. \nRegistration is not Required\n1. Participants will ride no faster than 12 mph.\n2. The ride will be conducted in silence.\n3. Riders are required to wear helmets.\n4.
