SUMMARY:Lenexa Moonlight Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:Building on the great success of our new route\, the Moonlight Bike Ride is back for our 24th year with a family-friendly route that includes the rider-favorite loop underground! \nCome join hundreds of other riders to experience this unique ride. The Moonlight Bike ride continues to gain in popularity\, with many riders and volunteers returning year after year. We anticipated another great turnout in 2019 with 700-800 riders anticipated. \nThe Lenexa Optimist Club continues to partner with the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Department to present the 24th Lenexa Moonlight Bike Ride on July 20\, 2019.  We have an extended route with a few extra miles and are making some tweaks designed to continue to improve the ride. \nThis family­-friendly 12-mile bicycle ride on Lenexa streets starts in Old Town Lenexa at 10:00pm and includes a loop underground through the Meritex caves\, just west of Renner Boulevard. \nAn optional “all you can eat” pancake feed provides a fun late night breakfast after the ride. Pre­-event entertainment is planned during check­-in for the ride along with the pre­-ride “Light the Night” contest. Pancake feed after the ride is $6 per person. \nSAG support will provide transportation back to the start/end location for riders unable to complete the ride. \nA helmet\, front light and rear reflector are required to ride. \n“LIGHT THE NIGHT” CONTEST:\nDecorate yourself and your bike! Get creative and light up the night. \nJudging at 9:30 p.m. in the ride staging area. \nDecorations must allow participant to ride safely or must be removed before the ride starts.
