DESCRIPTION:RSVP here		\n			\n	\n\n\n \n\nIn the spirit of “The Golden Age of Bicycles\,” you are cordially invited to attend the annual Kansas City Tweed Ride – Velocipede & Tweed Indeed! Please join us on Saturday\, November 5th\, 2021 at Kessler Park in Kansas City\, MO for an afternoon of sophisticated social revelry upon the most marvelous machines ever devised. \nWe will congregate at the Colonnade at the intersection of St. John Avenue and Gladstone Blvd. at 10 a.m.\, with the ride to commence at approximately 11 a.m. Bring the family and dress in your finest turn-of-the-century wools\, tweeds\, silks and argyles– there will be prizes for costumes and bicycles! \n\nTweed Ride Attire\nThink vintage or steampunk. Get creative! Raid the attic\, scavenge the thrift shops\, dust off the sewing machine – but no spandex\, please. \n\nTweed Ride Bikes\nOld bikes and vintage-inspired decorations are encouraged\, but all bikes are welcome! \n\nTweed Ride Food\nDon’t forget to pack a picnic! We will return to the Colonnade for a refreshing pause\, live music\, and prizes. Bring a blanket and lunch. \n\nThe Route\nOur 5 mile route will pass through one of the oldest and most historic neighborhoods of turn-of-the-century Kansas City with regrouping locations allowing for fine refreshment. This ride is about style and elegance\, not exertion– we will travel at a leisurely pace. Most of the route is car-free\, but there will be some portions in mixed traffic on quiet residential streets. \n\n\nThe Tweed Ride is for everyone that wants to come out. Whether you have tweedy clothes or bikes is not important. We’d love to have you join us regardless\, so just bring whatever bike you have and dress however you like. Let’s ride bikes and have a good time! \nNote: BikeWalkKC has passed the tweedy torch to a KC Tweed Ride committee\, and this event is no longer associated with BikeWalkKC.
