The Trailhead contains two memorials to critical events in the history of the City that took place on that site\, namely\, the route enslaved people escaping took to reach the Free State of Kansas and first tracks of a frontier railroad that would eventually place Kansas City in the center of commerce.

Check-in to get your trail map and then #HikeTheHeritage at your leisure or with a group beginning at 10 a.m.! Dogs on leashes are welcome. \n*Participants receive 15% off of brunch at EJ’s Urban Eatery in the West Bottoms!\n*Participants receive 15% off of brunch at Bar K Dog Bar and 50% off dog admission fee (a $5 savings)!
