The City of Kansas City\, in coordination with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)\, is developing the Linwood Corridor Plan to discover the answers. SUMMARY:GO KC Sidewalk Update Public Meeting 3
DESCRIPTION:ADVOCACY ALERT: KCMO Public Works is hosting a series of public meetings highlighting updates from the GOKC Sidewalk Program. These meetings are important opportunities to learn how the the inspection process works and ask questions of the Public Works representatives. During the meetings\, you’ll be able to review exhibits that describe the GO KC sidewalk program and Zone 2 design inspections. Representatives from the City and design team will be present to answer your questions and discuss issues or concerns.\n\n\nBACKGROUND\nKCMO Public Works is conducting sidewalk design inspections as part of the GO KC sidewalk program\, an effort BikeWalkKC and the Sidewalks KC Coalition advocated for. Inspection areas include Zone 1 from the city limits to 20th Street\, Zone 2 from 20th Street to 48th Street\, and Zone 3 from 48th Street to the south city limits. The first round of design inspections is split between three zones and focuses on priority areas 1\, 2\, and 3 (approved by City Council in August 2017) in our sidewalk demand analysis. In April 2017\, Kansas City voters overwhelmingly supported an $800 million capital improvements program to remake Kansas City’s infrastructure over the next 20 years. One of the major selling points for residents was the promise to create a city-funded sidewalk repair program that would eliminate homeowner assessments. To that end\, some $150 million is being dedicated to sidewalks.\n\n\n\n\n\nPublic Meeting No. 3\n\n\n\n\nMonday\, September 9\, 2019\n\n\n\n\n5:30 to 7 p.m. (presentation at 6 p.m.)\n\nBrush Creek Community Center\nLarge Meeting Room\n3801 Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard\n\n\n\n\n\nKansas City\, MO  64130\n\n\n\n\n\nFOR MORE INFORMATION\nAbout BikeWalkKC’s involvement in the Sidewalks KC Coalition:\nRead the blog \nAbout the GO KC and the public meetings:\nContact Maggie Green\, Public Works Public Information Officer\n816-513-2612  |  kcmo.gov/sidewalks
