DESCRIPTION:An event from BikeWalkKC\nWant to learn how to ride a bike? Join us for a one hour group learn-to-ride class for youth and adults ages 5 and up. The class will be led by expert BikeWalkKC education instructors in a relaxed\, encouraging setting. Our method does not utilize training wheels and teaches participants the basics of balancing\, starting\, stopping and steering a bike\, as well as proper helmet fit and adjustment. Most people learn to ride their bike while taking the class\, but even if they don’t\, they will leave with tips to continue teaching themselves to ride. Meet in the Victorious Life Church parking lot (3400 Paseo\, KCMO).* \nChoose a session that fits in your schedule. Register today\, because capacity for each group is limited! \n\n5-6 p.m.\n6-7 p.m.\n\nYouth must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class. \nHelmets are required for this class when on a bike! You’re welcome to bring your own bike and helmet to the class\, but please ensure your bike is in safe mechanical condition\, as we will not have time to repair your bike. Don’t have a bike or a helmet? No worries\, we have bikes and helmets you can borrow to use in the class. \n*In the event this class is canceled due to inclement weather\, we will provide a make-up session the following day on Wednesday\, Aug. 26 same time\, same place. We will try to give you a minimum of 24 hours advance notice if the class will be canceled due to forecasted inclement weather. You may also request a refund.

BikeWalkKC instructors will teach you how to keep your bike in good working order with a few basic tools and some practical know-how. Please click the orange button and register for this FREE class to help us deliver the best experience. \nMaintain Your Ride Class\nWed.\, Sept. 23; 6:00-7:30 p.m.\nJohnson County Central Resource Library\n9875 West 87th Street in Overland Park \nFamilies are welcome! You will learn the parts of a bike\, how to clean and lubricate your chain\, fix a flat\, adjust shifting and braking\, and other basic bike maintenance skills. This is an interactive class! \nNote: Bring your questions\, but please leave your bike parked at the rack. Our instructors will not have time to fix your bike\, but we can answer any specific questions you may have after the class.
