Questions, Answers, and More Info
The Tour de Bier is a fundraiser for two local non-profit organizations, Head for the Cure and BikeWalkKC.
Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds for brain tumor research and inspiring hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters. The organization advocates on behalf of all who have faced this disease in order to bring light to the need for funding for clinical trials to find comprehensive treatments. Head for the Cure strives to provide resources and bring the community together so no one feels like they are fighting a brain tumor alone.
BikeWalkKC's mission is to redefine the KC metro's streets as places for people to build a culture of active living. The organization envisions a future where neighbors are connected by safe streets and thriving communities, where walking and biking are the easy and choice, and taking the bus is comfortable and convenient. Through bicycle and pedestrian education for all ages, community planning for happy and healthy neighborhoods, and advocacy from school boards to the halls of Congress, BikeWalkKC leads the movement for safer streets.
Thank you for riding the Tour de Bier and supporting two great causes!
Riders must register by August 15 to guarantee a souvenir t-shirt.
Choose from 15ish miles, 30ish miles, or 50ish miles! Each route will tour through beautiful, historic Kansas City neighborhoods, with plenty of stops for beer and snacks along the way. All routes begin and finish at Berkley Riverfront Park.
Downloadable maps formatted for GPS apps and/or GPS devices will be emailed to you in advance of the Tour de Bier. If "acoustic" is more your style, you can also pick up paper turn-by-turn directions at the starting line on the day of the ride.
REMEMBER: This is an urban ride, and you will experience railroad crossings, pot holes, and rough spots. Commuter, touring, hybrid, or mountain bikes are recommended for all three routes, but not necessary. The Tour can be ridden with skinny tires but bring some tubes and a pump!

Your registration entitles you to samples from our participating breweries (limit one sample per brewery)! Depending on your route, you will get to try a sample at up to 6 favorite local breweries-- and don't forget your two free beers at the after party!
We love our brewery partners, and we are SO grateful to be welcomed back year after year! Always be kind to the brewery staff and follow brewery guidelines. Coronavirus is still with us, and the service industry has been especially hard-hit. Follow all brewery guidelines for masking and distancing. Help them keep their space tidy by disposing of trash in garbage cans, and please do not drink to-go beers on brewery property.
It'll be a bicycle bash at Berkley! Head back to the starting line at Berkley Riverfront Park for free lunch, live music, and more beer. Choose from a variety of food options included with your ticket, including vegan items. Roam the vendors, dance with the band, and raise a toast to your fellow riders!
We need your help! Pick from a variety of volunteer roles and get a VOLUNTEER t-shirt, lunch and two free after-party beers. From Hosting a Rest Stop with your civic club to cheering for riders as a Ride Mashall, we have a role that would be perfect for you. Learn more and sign up here.
