BikeWalkKC has sought to raise awareness around the shortcomings and opportunities the KC metro faces with regards to climate change. In addition to the release of our second policy brief on the intersection of the environment and transportation, we also participated in the climate strike organized by Sunrise Movement KC. Power in community: a profile of Complete Streets for North Kansas City
The key to advocacy of any sort is building community. Neighbors working together to create change is the fuel every movement needs to succeed, and a small group of dedicated North Kansas City residents is proving their worth in the City’s ongoing Complete Streets project. They call themselves “Complete Streets for NKC,” and they are […]
Policy Brief #1: Where Housing and Transportation Intersect
We will be releasing a series of policy briefs that highlight the overlap between multimodal transportation and other important issues for the metro. This is the first installment of that series. City Hall is also making some tweaks to the design in response to concerns about visibility at intersections for motorists. This data and the City’s willingness to make iterative improvements will help ensure lessons learned on Armour are used in the new bike plan and future bike lane projects.
