Traffic Calming event, 35th & Askew on Friday, June 22

On Friday, June 22nd, BikeWalkKC, in partnership with the American Heart Association-Kansas City, will install crosswalks and other pedestrian amenities at the intersection of 35th and Askew. This “pop-up traffic calming” event will demonstrate how minor changes to the street can bring big benefits.

The demonstration will last from 10:00 AM until approximately 6:00 PM on June 22nd. During that time, we encourage people to stop by and share their thoughts on the design of the improvements. The site is conveniently located at a RideKC 35 route bus stop.

This pop-up event is in conjunction with American Heart Association’s Most Powerful Voices Gospel Concert scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM at the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, 3619 E 35th St, Kansas City, MO 64128.

This event is made possible in part through support from TransitCenter, a foundation dedicated to urban mobility. Materials and supplies were provided through support from TrailNet and the Missouri APA chapter.
