Learn about the City’s plan for Woodsweather Road

Learn about the City’s plan for Woodsweather Road, an important connection for people walking and biking between the West Bottoms and Downtown.

Way back in 2011 we sent out an Advocacy Alert about Woodsweather Road, an important biking and walking connection between the West Bottoms, River Market, and Downtown. The City was studying options for the crumbling viaducts.

Five years later the City seems to have a plan for Woodsweather and is ready to share it with the public. An upcoming public meeting is your opportunity to learn about it and share your thoughts with city officials.

Woodsweather Road Open House
Thursday, February 25th, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Faultless Starch Building
1009 West 8th Street (in the West Bottoms)

There are two simple things to look for in the city’s plan:

1. Sidewalks on both sides of the bridge.

2. Bike lanes in both directions.

This bridge serves a very important transaportation and job access function, so it’s critical bicyclists and pedestrians are included in the design of the new bridge. If you want better bicycling and walking in this part of town, please take a few minutes to stop by this open house and ask for it.
