Speak up for walking and biking in the KCMO budget

Over the past year City Hall has talked a lot about prioritizing walking and biking, and the proof will be in the 2018-19 city budget.  There are three important things you can do to show the City Council that the public wants more investment in walking and biking:

3. Share your thoughts at KC Momentum

Some suggested ideas and talking points:

Support continued investment in transit, including the streetcar, bus system, and bike share.

Budget for implementation of the city’s new bike master plan, so we can speed up the pace of adding bike lanes.

Implement the new Transit-Oriented Development policy and ensure that future land use supports transit, walking, and biking.

Support Safe Routes to School programs in local schools to make it safer for kids to walk and bike to school.

Develop an action plan to reduce the number traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
