Education Programs Manager
Karl works to ensure that BikeWalkKC’s education programs are delivered effectively across the region. His work includes developing and improving curricula, working with our instructors to enhance their skills as educators, and seeking out relationships within the school districts and other organizations of the city to further BikeWalkKC’s mission.
Karl graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Shortly after, he became an instructor at BikeWalkKC and fell in love with the work. He sits on the Mid America Regional Council’s Destination Safe Coalition, is a member of the Healthy Eating and Active Living working group for Eastern Jackson County’s Community Health Improvement Plan, and is also a member of Weighing In’s Healthy Schools working group – a program at Children’s Mercy.
He lives in the Union Hill area of KCMO, where he is privileged to have the option to walk or bike to work everyday. Karl is highly active in the Ultimate Frisbee community, where he captains one of the region’s club teams and sits on the board of Kansas City Youth Ultimate. He has a great love for the outdoors, his cats, and a good story.
