Advocacy
We work with local partners to advocate in metro City Halls and County Courthouses for better bike/ped policies, more trails and bike lanes, and better enforcement of traffic laws.

 

Bike education
Learn to bicycle safely and confidently for transportation, recreation, or fitness.  We offer a range of free and fee-based classes covering topics like bike maintenance and repair, traffic safety, hauling cargo, and more. All classes are taught by professional instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists.

We can also customize classes for your business, club, or organization.  Contact us for options and/or a price quote.

 

Bike Week
We organize the region’s annual Bike Week and Bike to Work events, showcasing the diverse cycling community of commuting, racing, mountain biking, fixed gear, and more.

 

Car Free Challenge
How many car trips can you replace with bicycling, walking, or transit? Sign up for the Car Free Challenge to see how much pollution you can keep out of the air while getting fit and winning some great prizes.

 

Ciclovia
In spring fo 2012 we will offer the city’s first-ever Ciclovia event, part of an international movement create temporary public space by closing city streets to cars and opening them to bicyclists, pedetrians, joggers, dancers, kids, and more. Safe Routes to School
BikeWalkKC organizes the regional celebration of International Walk to School Day and October as Walk and Bike to School month. We are working to make is safer and easier for kids to walk or bike school. Find out how your child’s school can start Walking School Bus, Biket Train, or other Safe Routes to School program.
