Become a Cycling Instructor

LCI Certification in Kansas City

Once or twice a year BikeWalkKC hosts a certification seminar for the League of American Bicyclists’ League Certified Instructor program (LCI). This two and a half day intensive training prepares instructors with the curriculum, skills, and knowledge to teach children and adults how to bike safely and confidently.

  • When: July 28-30, 2017 (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon)
  • How much: $350, includes instruction and all materials

Prerequisite
Successful completion of the Traffic Skills 101 class is required for the LCI Certification Seminar. BikeWalkKC’s Confident City Cycling class fulfills this requirement and will be offered before the next LCI Seminar.

Lodging and Travel Information
Prospective instructors often travel to Kansas City from around the Midwest to get LCI certification. Training is usually held at the BikeWalkKC office in Midtown KC, between south of Downtown and near Westport and the Country Club Plaza. When dates and location are confirmed we will update this page with recommendations for travel and lodging.
