New brewery supports biking and walking

The Big Rip Brewing Company is a new brewery and tap room opening soon in North Kansas City. For a limited time the brewery is donating 10% of merchandise sales to BikeWalkKC. With a cyclist and a runner as co-founders and a location at the north end of the Heart of America Bridge's new bike/ped path, Big Rip wants to support the local bike/ped community.

Their online store includes some great stuff like pint glasses, stainless steel growlers, personal brew sessions, and private event rentals. Between now and their opening in early 2013, 10% of all sales will go to BikeWalkKC and our mission to make Greater Kansas City a better and safer place to walk, bike, and live.

Check out The Big Rip Brewing Company at bigripbrewing.com, on Facebook, and on Twitter @BigRipBeer.

Plus, Big Rip has just been added to the Tour de Brew, our annual bike tour of KC's brewery heritage. Stay tuned for more details and be sure to mark your calendars for May 19th, 2013.
