BikeWalkKC’s advocacy programs work with local communities to improve the built environment and public health. We position ourselves to be a resource to decision makers and leaders, and rally those that can support and lead efforts to support better streets, neighborhoods, and transportation futures. Collectively, our staff participates in dozens of committees and boards that advise local decision makers on issues pertaining to the built environment. We have spent years cultivating relationships with elected officials across the region. These elected officials frequently seek our advice on a number of issues related to transportation, health, economic development, and parks. We also work with our members and our coalition to help them build relationships with elected officials and key local government staff. As a regional advocacy organization, BikeWalkKC also maintains a database of passionate and motivated stakeholders who we engage collectively and selectively to support action on important initiatives.
