BLAST bike classes at Southeast Community Center

BikeWalkKC and KC Parks are partnering to bring our BLAST program (Bike Lesson and Safety Training) out of the classroom and into the Southeast Community Center for four weekends this fall.

Youth aged 10-15 will learn basic bike maintenance, helmets and other personal safety equipment, intermediate traffic skills and concepts, on-bike skills training, and group rides.

The Youth Ride KC program will be offered Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 26 and 28th, and on October 5th and 12th.

The cost is $40 per person. Call the Southeast Community Center at 816-513-0632 for more information or to sign up.

Bikes will be furnished, and each youth participating in the program will receive a free bike helmet.

BLAST is usually offered in local elementary schools, so this is a great opportunity to access the program if it hasn’t made it your child’s school yet.
