Safe Routes to School Workshop
Want to learn how to make it safer and more enjoyable for your children to walk or bike to school? This free workshop is a perfect opportunity to brainstorm ideas with your neighbors, gain some new tools for encouraging biking and walking, and making your neighborhood safer.
- Work with your neighbors on safe walking and biking strategies and start planning your own ideas!
- Brainstorm ways to improve pick-up and drop-off
- Learn about examples from other communities
- Discuss concepts like walking school buses, walk to school days and bike trains
- Suggest physical improvements like sidewalks and bike lanes
- Take part in a walking exercise to survey the current sidewalk conditions.
BikeWalkKC works with schools, teachers, parents, and communities across the metro area to make it safer and easier for kids to walk and bike to school. New Belgium Brewing invades Bier Station and leads a slow ride
Get in the spirit of the 3rd Annual New Belgium Clips FIlm and Beer Festival. Our friends from Fort Collions are invading Bier Station in Waldo with a Tap Takover and a bike ride. Sample some unique craft brews, join New Belgium and BikeWalkKC folks on a casual bike ride, and get signed up to win the New Belgium cruiser bike we are giving away on June 6th.

Free Admission. Beer, food, soft drinks for sale.
Credit cards accept for beer, everything else is cash only.
Free valet bicycle parking for those who ride, thanks to the Sierra Club!
Bring a blanket, picnic basket, or camp chairs. Kids are welcome and will have fun stuff to keep them occupied. Food will be available for sale from local restaurants.
Outside food is OK, but please no outside alcohol.
