Board of Directors Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Directors of BikeWalkKC.  We sincerely appreciate your interest in our mission to redefine our streets as place for people to build a culture of active living. Depending on response volume we may not be able to respond individually to all who express interest, but we will carefully consider each candidate. The following questionnaire is intended to help us get to know prospective candidates. We ask you to answer briefly, but thoughtfully. All information submitted here will be treated as confidential and circulated only among the BikeWalkKC Executive Director and current members of the Board of Directors.

About Board Service

The board meets six times a year at 4:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of even-numbered months, and via phone or email as needed. All members are expected to maintain current memberships in BikeWalkKC and Kansas City BCycle, volunteer for at least one major event, and be an ambassador for the organization in the community.

Term Length

Board terms last for two years. Elections are held in June, with half of the board seats elected each year. Board members may serve a maximum of three consecutive terms, and there is no limit on the cumulative number of terms served.
